My 70th Birthday train journey from Canterbury to Dove (and back)

For many years now I have tried to ride on electric transport including trolleybuses in Canada (1980) Budapest, Trams in the UK and trains. On my 70th Birthday I had the good fortune and few pennies to have ride on the electric trains between Canterbury and Dover. This was in addition to a life times treat I had at Duxford Imperial War Museum with a flight in a Tiger Moth plane. Yes I have flown in several types of planes but never had the chance to take over the controls but his was possible once the pilot in charge felt confident that we would not do an instant nose dive if I took over!

A farewell wave for my wife Pat taking the photograph and me in the wonderful old De Havillamd 82A Tiger Moth for the 20 minute flight. I think our bank balance took a nose dive though as prior to the flight we treated each other to flight in the twin engine De havilland Rapide plane prior to my Tiger Moth flight.
